NMBAQC Year 17 Components 

 

Applications are now open for the NMBAQC scheme's Yr 17 Invertebrate and Fish Components.  For further details see the Yr 17 Information Note and Application Form.  Applications close: June 30, 2010.

 

Invertebrate and Partcile Size Components

Module Participation:

• Full Scheme (Five Modules)
• Macrobenthic (MB) module
• Particle Size (PS) module
• Ring Test (RT) module
• Own Sample (OS) module

• Lab Reference (LR) module

• Shared membership available for groups up to 3 individual self-employed analysts.
• For the Own Sample module of the Benthic Invertebrate Component, a sole trader can participate at the concessionary cost of £1000 for single person taking part.
• For European participants prices will be at current exchange rates.
• Note: There will be an additional courier charge of £80 per exercise outside the UK.

Fish Component

Module Participation:

• Fish - Reverse Ring Test (F-RRT) module - Training exercise (Timing: Autumn 2010)
• Fish - Ring Test (F-RT) module - Training exercise (Timing: Spring 2011)

• Fish Identification Workshop (Timing: Spring 2011 - dependent on participants interest).  Expressions of interest to: NMBAQC Fish Contract Manager, Steve Coates

Epibiota Component

Module Participation:

Macroalgae Component

Module Participation:

• Rockyshore macroalgae Ring Test (RM-RT) module - Training exercise (Timing: Spring 2011)
• Rockyshore macroalgal Reverse Ring Test (RM-RRT) module - Training exercise (Timing: Spring 2011)
• Opportunistic macroalgae cover ring test (OMC-RT) module - Training exercise (Timing: Spring 2011)
• Opportunistic macroalgae biomass ring test (OMB-RT) module - Training exercise (Timing: Spring 2011)

Please note - applications have now closed for the macroalgae component exercises which will be run at the end of April, 2010. 

 

Phytoplankton Component

Module Participation:

• Phytoplankton Intercomparison Exercise 2010 (including identification and enumeration ring tests and workshop) (Timing: Winter/Spring 2010)
• Phytoplankton Intercomparison Exercise 2011 (including identification and enumeration ring tests and workshop) (Timing: Winter/Spring 2011).  Expressions of interest to: Rafael Salas, Marine Institute.
